Why are people against abortion?

Who cares about being laughed at, we're talking about the ability to take life away. I'm for abortion, though I wouldn't encourage it. Even a paedophile's baby shouldn't be blamed for being conceived that way, it was beyond its control so to 'kill' it for that is unmerited. How can you say there's no good reason to deny abortion? That's just ridiculous.
